In order to attain this holy end, it will your duty, as parents, to teach him early the fear (respect) of the Lord, to watch over his education, that he be not led astray; to direct his youthful mind to the Holy Scriptures, and his feet to the sanctuary; to restrain him from evil associates and habits; and to the best of your abilities bring him up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Heavenly Father, we humbly pray that Thou will take this child into Thy loving care. Abundantly enrich him with Thy heavenly grace; bring him safely through the perils of childhood; deliver him from the temptations of youth; lead him to a personal knowledge of Christ as Saviour; help him to grow in wisdom, and in stature, and in favor with God and man, and to preserve therein to the end. Uphold the parents with loving care, that with wise counsel and holy example they may faithfully discharge their responsibilities both to his child and to Thee. In the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
